Awards for everyone

As a PR professional, it’s my job to know what’s going on across a variety of sectors as they relate to my business and my clients.

I love being able to dip in and out of different industries, learn from experts and then communicate that messaging to the public.

I also love being able to acknowledge hard work. Which is why I keep across different industry awards. Including the awards within my own industry.

I’m not just talking about public relations awards, I’m talking about print /press awards, radio, podcasting, television and more!

I make a point to reach out those who are nominated (and I’ve had some contact with, otherwise it would just be weird!) to say congratulations.

It’s a small thing, but it shows I’m paying attention. It shows I care (and I DO!). It also goes a long way in building relationships.

My tip?

Do the same and if your own industry awards have been postponed due to the pandemic, don’t despair.

This is a golden opportunity for you to present your own award (of sorts). It’s an opportunity for you to shoot an email, have a coffee or lunch with someone who you think deserves acknowledgement.

Awards really are for everyone!
