New Emojis on the way

We’ve heard via various social media news sites that some new emojis are on the way.

The release date is slated for June 21st (US time) and the new emojis will add to the already expansive image collection.

For those brands associated with health the “sneezing face” emoji will be popular, as will the man in tuxedo for wedding businesses, just as the handshake will be popular for businesses of all sizes!

Pay Per Click – Is it worth it?

We read an article today that really opened our eyes to the benefits of pay per click advertising.

Now, before we get much further, we do believe that any activity MUST have a “share” across advertising, PR and marketing. To maximise the most out of your message, it makes sense to have a comprehensive campaign.

So, back to Pay Per Click (PPC), the one point in this article that really stood out for us, was the fact that with the ability to focus on a certain audience, your message can be heard by those who you want to SPECIFICALLY target.

Which seems simple enough, but imagine being able to target people aged 18-23, who have purchased a coffee in the last week. If you own a bakery, that audience clearly is “hungry” so why not target them?

Spending otherwise means that you’re potentially reaching an audience that really isn’t interested.

Facebook wants you to have a Happy Birthday

So in news overnight, Facebook has announced a new feature.

They’re launching a Happy Birthday Cam (Camera) feature so you can now record a message for your friends and post it to their wall.

It will certainly take more effort to write HBD (Happy Birthday) a trend many younger users post on friends walls on their special day.

Do you think this is Facebook trying to take over where Snapchat, Flipagram and others occupy? Let us know in the comments below.

Ho Ho Ho-lidays!

As I reflect on 2011, community is at the heart of many of the activities Pursuit Communications has undertaken this year.

At the start of the year Pursuit was proud to assist with the Empire Bay Community Fundraiser where an astounding $4,500 was raised for QLD Flood victims. Most recently we’ve supported a number of charity activities organised by the Empire Bay Progress Association.

We’ve continued to work on campaigns for a number of businesses with Central Coast offices, and those wanting to communicate their messages to the community of the Central Coast.

In 2011 Pursuit  built on our success on number of large national and metropolitan campaigns and continued to achieve amazing results for our clients and look forward to maintaining this momentum in 2012.

Our PR tips and tricks  were offered throughout the year to our blog followers and we engaged with a large number of fans on Facebook and Twitter. (Why not head over there now and like us or follow us?)

For now, I wish you the very happiest of Christmases. May you enjoy all that’s important this festive season – family, friends and those in your community.

Seasons Greetings,

Brooke
